There are many reasons I have yet to lose hope on 2010, but most of them are very minor glimmers of hope, so I'll just stick to a few of the major games and add-ons that you might've not remembered, and maybe that'll make your day.
Move and Kinect are almost relevant
It might acutally work, keyword being might |
Despite their aim at casual gamers with one member of the family owning a "hardcore" gaming console, Move and Kinect might actually have a practical use if used in a relevant, addicting game that really couldn't be replicated without the motion control. And although this game may not have been announced yet, yet might turn out to be the keyword here. But in the meantime, the Move has at least one promising game already out on PSN called Tumble which may turn out to be the killer app Sony needs if they want Move to survive. Microsoft on the other hand....
Reason it's going to take money out of your wallet: Tumble, Promising new games on the horizon, Dance Central, Forza Motorsport 3 and Killzone 3.
A few beautiful games that no one will buy
Case in point being Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, a game being produced by little-known developer Ninja Theory (known for making one of the first decent PS3 exclusives, Heavenly Sword and redesigning (or ruining) Dante from Devil May Cry), and is attempting to revolutionize game stories, and according to GamesRadar, succeeded. In addition to Enslaved, Costume Quest is being made by the most talented game studio in ever and looks to be the best western JRPG that there's ever going to be.
Reason it's going to take money out of your wallet: Enslaved, Costume Quest, LittleBIGPlanet 2, Vanquish and The Sly Collection. Also, it should.
About a hundred games that everyone will buy
Call of Duty: Black Ops, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Fallout: New Vegas, Guitar Hero: Legends of Rock, Rock Band 3, Medal of Honor, Halo: Reach, Final Fantasy XIV, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Plants Vs Zombies, Sonic Colors, Goldeneye 007, Sonic 4, Fable III, Dead Rising 2 and Madden 11'. That's right, nearly EVERY major gaming franchise save Mario and Zelda are releasing a new entry in the fall and winter. Even series that haven't released less than a whisper in ten years are getting sequels, namely Goldeneye and Donkey Kong. Even if you disagree with the previous entries on the list, there's something for practically everyone at the end of this year.
Reason it's going to take money out of your wallet: I just listed every major gaming dynasty releasing something for the holidays, do I need to list them again?
